The Carbon Underground launches verifiable Regenerative Ag standard.

The Carbon Underground led a farmer/industry/academic collaborative to create a consensus standard for regenerative agriculture. This process in turn gave birth to The Soil Carbon Initiative™, which has developed an outcome-based, verifiable standard designed to improve soil health and build soil carbon by encouraging the shift to regenerative agricultural practices.

Designed with input from over 150 stakeholders — from global food companies to individual farmers to some of the world’s leading soil and climate scientists— the Soil Carbon Initiative (SCI) standard is affordable, simple, and both farmer and business friendly. Partners include Danone, Ben & Jerrys, MegaFood, Green America and many more.

Launching in late 2019, we are now in the Public Comment period to ensure that the standard is acceptable and attractive to stakeholders to accelerate broad adoption.
