The Carbon Underground leverages experience and relationships cultivated from decades of work in the for-profit sector. Having worked with nearly half of the Fortune 100, with special expertise in the food industry, TCU benefits from a deep understanding of the key elements critical to business success. These include business development, marketing, supply chain, litigation and compliance, all of which are important in a world of shifting environmental and regulatory conditions.
Some of The Carbon Underground’s current projects include:
Food Fleet is the nation’s largest provider of food trucks. Working with over a thousand trucks across the country Food Fleet provides millions of mobile meals for corporations like Kaiser, Toyota, and Farmers Insurance. They also provide food on military bases, at airports and convention centers, and are in development to use its national fleet to be the first responder in case of national and local emergencies. TCU is working with Food Fleet to develop menu items using ingredients raised in a regenerative manner and to help educate corporate clients and end-users on the relationship between food choices and climate change.
Cohu Entertainment is a company based in Helsinki, Finland that uses the tools of technology and entertainment to engage people in science. The Carbon Underground is working with Cohu on several projects designed to increase awareness, support and action that will lead to carbon drawdown. These include a Carbon-To-Soil program that will allow individuals to help reverse climate change by restoring a meter of soil for as little as $5. An action-oriented educational program that engages primary schools in inter-connected projects around soil, climate change and carbon sequestration is also being developed.
